Position Overview: The Family Law Lawyer will support the legal team by managing a high volume of family law cases, taking on new files, and appearing regularly before the Superior Court and Quebec Court (Youth Division).<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Legal Advisory Services: Provide legal counsel on a wide range of family law matters, offering strategic advice to clients throughout proceedings.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Court Proceedings: Prepare for and represent clients before the Superior Court and Quebec Court (Youth Division), handling all required court procedures and filings.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="3">Case Management: Organize and oversee case files using case management systems to ensure timely progress and compliance with all legal deadlines.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="4">Legal Document Management: Draft, review, and file a variety of legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements related to family law practice.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="5">Legal Research &amp; Case Law Analysis: Conduct legal research and analyze relevant statutes and case law to support arguments and case strategy.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="6">Compliance Advisory: Ensure all processes comply with applicable laws and regulations in Quebec family law.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="7">Collaboration: Work closely with a team of legal professionals to strategize and coordinate on complex files.</li></ul>Key Objectives: Maintain a billable target of 1,500 hours per year, deliver high-quality service to clients, contribute to positive case outcomes, and participate in ongoing professional development.<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary structure, three weeks of paid vacation plus one week unpaid, coverage of professional fees and insurance, firm-sponsored continuing education, Apple devices, group insurance, partial STM and EV sponsorships, and deluxe salon perks.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Language Requirements: Fluency in both English and French is essential for success in this role.</li></ul>

The ideal person thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment and is motivated by the challenge of balancing multiple cases with an unwavering commitment to quality and ethics.<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Experience: At least two years of practice in family law, with direct exposure to litigation and pleading before the Superior Court and Youth Division.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Legal Acumen: Solid understanding of legal counseling, document management, court procedures, and the ability to navigate complex case management systems with confidence.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="3">Research &amp; Analysis: Strong research skills, adept at analyzing case law, and capable of providing accurate compliance advice tailored to unique client situations.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="4">Attention to Detail: Highly organized with an ability to deliver thorough regulatory documentation and due diligence under tight deadlines.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="5">Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, allowing for effective advocacy and clear client interactions in and out of court.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="6">Team-Oriented: Engaged collaborator, eager to contribute to a collegial and supportive team environment while working autonomously when required.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="7">Adaptability: Embraces new technologies, open to leveraging firm-provided tools, and keen to participate in ongoing professional development.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="8">Client-Focused: Sensitive to the needs of diverse clients, combining empathy with practical problem-solving skills in high-stakes family law matters.</li></ul>We value individuals who bring initiative, sound judgment, and a positive attitude to every case they handle.
