As part of the governance framework, you will hold one of the four independent control functions within the second line of defense (LoD), reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). <h4 class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__h4" dir="ltr">Your Mission </h4><ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Review, advise on, and report actuarial calculations.</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Assess and provide opinions on technical provisions and evaluate data quality.</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Collaborate with the Risk Manager to analyze reserving and pricing risks.</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Work closely with the Head of Reserving and the Quantitative Risk Manager within the Actuarial Department.</li></ul><h4 class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__h4" dir="ltr">Your Responsibilities</h4><ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Act as the contact person for supervisory authorities on technical provisions, reinsurance policy, and pricing.</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Conduct quarterly assessments of technical provision estimates.</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Review pricing processes for new products conducted by the first line of defense.</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Evaluate general tariff increases and profitability analyses from the first LoD.</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Assess technical provisions forecasts, including ORSA.</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Coordinate technical provision calculations and assess data quality, ensuring that IT systems and AI tools support actuarial processes effectively.</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Ensure that actuarial methodologies, models, and assumptions used in calculations are appropriate.</li><li value="8" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Inform the Board of Directors and Management Committee about the reliability and adequacy of technical provision calculations.</li><li value="9" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Provide expert opinions on underwriting policies and reinsurance arrangements.</li><li value="10" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Take responsibility for actuarial reports and support the Qualitative Risk Manager with expertise and guidance.</li></ul>

<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Fluent in English and Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other language.</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Degree in Actuarial Sciences.</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Meets the Fit &amp; Proper requirements of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience (including Solvency II calculations) in non-life insurance.</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Ability to work independently while remaining a team player.</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Advanced Excel proficiency (VBA knowledge is a plus).</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Strong analytical mindset and ability to simplify complex concepts for non-experts.</li><li value="8" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">A problem-solving approach, with a keen attention to detail.</li><li value="9" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Open to learning, self-improvement, and personal development.</li><li value="10" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Pragmatic, open to feedback, and constructively critical.</li></ul>
