Location: Walloon Brabant, 3 days on-siteA growing BI team is seeking an experienced and motivated Data Analyst / Power BI Expert. In this role, you will transform large and complex datasets into actionable insights and develop advanced Power BI solutions to support data-driven decisions across the organization. This role is based in Walloon Brabant, with opportunities to actively contribute to a dynamic, fast-evolving company environment.<h3 class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__h3" dir="ltr">Key Responsibilities</h3>Advanced Power BI Development<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards, leveraging advanced DAX functions, complex measures, and efficient data modeling techniques</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Optimize report performance for large datasets, ensuring efficient data loading, processing, and visualization</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Implement row-level security and other security measures to protect data integrity and confidentiality</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Develop and maintain custom visuals and extensions to enhance reporting capabilities</li></ul>Data Analysis and Visualization<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Analyze large and complex datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Create compelling and informative data visualizations that effectively communicate key findings to stakeholders</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Establish data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability</li></ul>Collaboration and Mentorship<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Work closely with data engineers for seamless data integration and preparation for analysis</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Mentor junior data analysts on Power BI best practices and advanced techniques</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Participate actively in knowledge sharing to contribute to the team’s overall expertise</li></ul><h3 class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__h3" dir="ltr">Profile</h3>Education and Experience<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Over 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong focus on Power BI development</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Proven experience with large, complex datasets in data warehousing and big data environments</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Strong understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schema design</li></ul>Technical Skills<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Expert-level Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service skills, including advanced DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling capabilities</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Strong SQL skills with experience in querying and manipulating data from multiple database systems</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for Power BI reports</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Understanding of data security best practices in Power BI</li></ul><h3 class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__h3" dir="ltr">Plus Points</h3><ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Experience with other visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik Sense)</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Knowledge of Python or R scripting</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS)</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Microsoft Power BI certifications</li></ul>
