Position Overview:The Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services Regulation provides expert legal guidance within a dynamic financial services environment. This senior position plays a critical role in supporting the entity’s regulatory objectives and maintaining compliance with financial regulations through proactive, high-quality legal advisory and risk management.Key Duties and Objectives:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Legal Advisory Services: Deliver timely and accurate legal advice on financial services regulation, policy initiatives, investigations, enforcement matters, and the processes linked to the authorization and supervision of financial service providers.</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Policy Support: Perform legal analysis and contribute to drafting activities that underpin policy development for regulatory frameworks.</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Risk Management: Identify, assess, and escalate urgent, high-risk, or reputational matters, ensuring swift and appropriate action in line with organizational standards.</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Collaboration: Work closely with internal business units to ensure aligned and coordinated legal support while fostering effective relationships that prioritize client needs and regulatory compliance.</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Reporting: Prepare, review, and contribute to high-standard documentation, reports, and briefing materials for senior management and regulatory committees.</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Compliance and Procedures: Implement departmental policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with legislative requirements while providing efficient, cost-effective legal services.</li><li value="7" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive enhancements in legal services by leveraging best practices and new technologies.</li></ul>

Qualifications and Experience:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li value="1" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law.</li><li value="2" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Professional Credentials: Current practicing certificate or equivalent right to practice in law from a common law jurisdiction.</li><li value="3" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Experience: Minimum of 8 years post-qualification legal experience, with a background in financial services regulation, either from a highly ranked international law firm or a financial services regulator.</li><li value="4" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Skills: Strong analytical and legal drafting skills, with the ability to advise on complex legal matters with minimal supervision.</li><li value="5" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.</li><li value="6" class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem">Interpersonal Skills: Ability to negotiate and persuade effectively, contributing to multidisciplinary teams.</li></ul>
