Position Overview:This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Controller by combining bookkeeping duties with process automation and optimization initiatives. The Junior Accountant will focus substantially on automating workflows and streamlining internal accounting processes within a 6-month contract, potentially leading to a permanent position.Main Duties:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Lead or assist in process improvement projects, such as analyzing and redesigning expense reimbursement workflows.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Research and implement automation tools to increase efficiency across accounting functions.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="3">Develop scripts and automation solutions, primarily using Python, with possible involvement in VBA-based projects, to reduce repetitive manual tasks.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="4">Support daily bookkeeping activities (including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations) during peak periods or team absences.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="5">Contribute to ongoing enhancements in internal controls and overall financial operations.</li></ul>Scope and Focus:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Approximately 70% of responsibilities revolve around process optimization and automation.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Remainder devoted to traditional bookkeeping tasks.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="3">Expected to work 37.5 hours per week on a 6-month contract with potential for extension or permanence.</li></ul>Technical &amp; Functional Requirements:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">Python programming skills are essential, particularly for automation. Familiarity with VBA is advantageous.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="2">Understanding of accounting workflows and how automation can improve these processes.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="3">Experience in general accounting, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, financial statements, and reconciliations.</li><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="4">Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively on improvement projects.</li></ul>Language of Work:<ul class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__ul"><li class="PlaygroundEditorTheme__listItem" value="1">English</li></ul>
